In the Victorian Curriculum F–10, the Arts includes Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design.

The Arts enable students to develop their creative and expressive capacities by learning about the different practices, disciplines and traditions that have shaped the expression of culture locally, nationally and globally. Students are both artist and audience in the Arts. They make and respond and learn to appreciate the specific ways this occurs in different disciplines.

At DRPS the Arts program aims to encourage creativity, confidence and resilience. Students are involved in the exploration of a variety of genres in a safe, supportive environment. Students explore performance arts, visual arts, design and multimedia via formal lessons, inquiry and discovery. Students are encouraged to actively critique, support their contentions and apply new skills. No one leaves a lesson in the Arts without a smile on their face! The Arts at DRPS is also supported through an instrumental extracurricular program.
