We value the use of Technology at Diggers Rest Primary School. In addition to computers, black and white and colour printers, software and laminators, each double classroom is equipped with digital cameras.

The infant classrooms have the use of 3 computers, while the rest of the classrooms have 4. Each double classroom also has a printer through which students are able to publish work.

The students at Diggers Rest are keen to use technology in their classroom. They are able to use a variety of programs such as Microsoft Office, Kahootz, Encyclopaedia programs and other topical educational programs. In addition to these, students are also able to use the internet to access the world wide web. Each student is provided with a password and we are able to maintain a check as to what material they are accessing.

Students in the senior grades also use the internet effectively to research and find relevant infromation on topics. The senior students continue to  work with the junior grades to teach them how to use the different functions on the computer as well as how to make Powerpoint presentations. We are very fortunate at Diggers Rest to have senior students who are so interested in technology. Students photograph school events and regularly publish pages in the school newsletter.
